Experience Nozawa Onsen Village in a modern, self-contained apartments with a countryside farmhouse style. Nozawa Onsen Basecamp is an apartment building with mainly 2 bedroom apartments, common area laundry, gear room, and lounge/playroom, and is located in the heart of the village, very conveniently halfway between Oyu Onsen and Nagasaka Gondola in a quiet spot nestled up against the mountain. For skiers and boarders, only 200 meter walk to the main gondola in one direction and 200 meters to the escalator that goes to the ski school, main Hikage bowl area and the other gondola there. Restaurants, cafes, bars and nightlife, shopping, onsen hopping and the bustle of the village area all just steps away from the building, and the village itself is a great location to see the region.
Nozawa Onsen is a great basecamp for exploring the great outdoor and cultural areas of the Japan Northern Alps, from Nagano on the West to Joetsu / Niigata on the East, Yuzawa and Shiga Kogen on the North to Nojiri Lake on the South. Inbetween you will find cultural towns of Obuse, Suzaka, Nagano, Tokamachi, castle ruins and temples in Joetsu and Iiyama, and many quaint and hidden villages deep in the snow country such as Nozawa Onsen and Akiyamago. Famous ski resorts and winter play abound, and the green season provides a much wider range of outdoor activities on the rivers, lakes, mountains and sea. The mountain spring water is fresh and untainted, the variety of local cuisine gives pleasure at every meal, and the people are sincere, hardworking, and very happy to make your stay an enriching and enjoyable experience.
The apartments are fully furnished and self-contained two bedroom units with fit-out kitchens, appliances and crockery, bathrooms with high-tech Japanese toilet, shower, towels and toiletries, and tatami bedrooms and single traditional, non-allergenic futon bedding for each guest but fine linens and warm quilts to finish off the traditional stay in good comfort. We believe the village environment is refreshing to the soul, and we invite you to awaken to the `slow life` experience of ancient times that is still alive here.
